    The top post on the homepage of my site is showing ALL of the content in the post, despite the fact that I've entered a manual excerpt to link to Read More AND I've adjusted the settings to "show post excerpt" It is indeed showing excerpts for the 2 posts below it on the homepage, just not the top/latest one.Thoughts?

    Note: Backup before making changes

    1. Goto Appearance > Editor and open home.php file. Look for following code

    <?php

    remove_action( 'genesis_loop', 'genesis_do_loop' );
    add_action( 'genesis_loop', 'eleven40_grid_loop_helper' );
    /** Add support for Genesis Grid Loop */
    function eleven40_grid_loop_helper() {

    	if ( function_exists( 'genesis_grid_loop' ) ) {
    		genesis_grid_loop( array(
    			'features' => 1,
    			'feature_image_size' => 0,

    In above code change 1 to 0 next to "features".

    2. Second option, if you want to give theme normal blog like layout and not show posts in two columns, then rename home.php to any other name like homeold.php
