    In the description of the Eleven40 theme it says "4 color styles, 6 layout options, custom background, custom header..." but from reading discussions in the old forum it doesn't look like there is the ability to add the custom header.

    Is there a way to add the function to replace the logo image and add a header instead?

    See this thread:

    http://www.studiopress.community/topic/inserting-a-banner-in-the-eleven40-theme,

    particularly the response by @wpsmith with the code to add a custom header.

    add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 960, 'height' => 100, 'textcolor' => '444', 'admin_header_callback' => 'minimum_admin_style' ) );

    , or change the CSS for #title (#title:before and #title:after).

    Thank you Susan. It doesn't quite clarify - does this go in functions.php?

    I tried adding it there and I got an error message

    Yes, it does go in functions.php, but I see what you mean about getting an error message, as I just received one when I attempted it.

    So, I went back and found another thread, and a similar recommendation (this one by user @Bill-Murray), and didn't receive an error message with this code:

    add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 960, 'height' => 110 ) );
