    Hey guys!

Brand new to Genesis and can’t seem to find a Genesis child theme I really like. The one I’m most drawn to so far is the…default Genesis parent theme. However, the theme files seem caked with warnings not to edit them.

Is there a way to grab a child version of this default theme to build from? Or is there a way to grab its files and turn it into the foundation for the new child theme? It was suggested that I download the Sample Child Theme and start from there, but that is already aesthetically so different.

    Any thoughts?

Don't know what you did, but Sample Child theme is an exact replica of the default Genesis Framework theme.

    Am I missing something then?

These two (original parent; sample child) look aesthetically quite different.

That's an outdated link. Get the latest Sample Child theme from My StudioPress > Downloads > Genesis Sample

That solves it, thanks Peter! I kept getting the old one in a roundabout way. 🙂
