    Using the Altitude Pro theme.

    I want to change the description of the Footer widgets from "Footer 1 widget area" to something more descriptive for my client.

    Footer widgets are not registered in functions.php and I am not finding any documentation about Footer Widgets in MyStudioPress. What would I enter in functions.php to make that edit?

    Thanks much,
    Sheila Bergman

    The footer widget names are hard coded in the framework. You can see where they are created in the genesis_register_footer_widget_areas function in lib/functions/widgetize.php. If you copy this function to functions.php, rename and edit it so it gives you what you want in terms of names, you can use your function by including:

    remove_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'genesis_register_footer_widget_areas' );
    add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'register_my_footer_widget_areas' );
