I just switched over to the Divine theme and in setting up my widgets see that it will only display full width even though that is not how the theme is set.

I removed some plugins and emptied my cache, etc and can't find where the issue is stemming from.

Any help on what might be causing this?

    Thank you!
    Ash

On the From the Blog widget area, you have some setting in your child theme (Divine) where it's set to sidebar-split-left .... I'm not familiar with this theme, but it's probably under Appearances >> Customize or Appearances >> Theme Options.

So it's a setting in your child theme, Divine.

I'm going to install Divine on a test domain, and see if I can locate the setting.

    Okay.

There are widget areas for sidebar / split left and sidebar / split right. Don't use those.

Instead, just put all of your widgets you're using (e.g., From the Blog) in the Primary Sidebar widget area, and don't use the split left / split right widget areas.

    Hope this helped.

    Thanks Jason,
I saw my blog posts side by side when I first installed it (which is how it should be) but, now, everything is full width. I've moved things around many times trying to see if maybe I needed widgets in the areas in order to see them, but that doesn't seem to be the issue.

So, I'm not sure what made it go full width. 🙁

Okay ... just so you understand what I'm talking about, see this screen capture of your site.

Thanks! Got rid of everything in the sidebar split...
Got posts side by side...but the Genesis user profile widget is still showing full width, even though it is in the Primary sidebar.

If it's in the primary sidebar, it will be full-width (of the sidebar). That's what I thought you wanted.

Then you just drag other widgets (e.g., From the Blog) under your author profile, and so on. Then everything will be full width, if that's what you wanted.

Currently, I don't see the From the Blog widget on your homepage.

My apologies for being unclear - let me start over. I do NOT want anything full width. But, whatever I added was showing as full width, which was what I was trying to resolve.

I'm trying to set it up close to the demo theme, so that I have some featured posts in the content area and profile widget, etc in the sidebar.

Everything was showing as full width and I was trying to see why.
    Hope that helps?

In the Divine demo, some things are full width (those are widgets in the primary sidebar widget area).

"Must Reads" is in the split-left widget area.

"Sponsor" is in the split-right widget area.

I am experiencing the same problem. The sidebars are not working, everything is full-width and just stacks on the page. I came to the forum to find a fix.

I realized you need to have a widget in the Slider Widget area for the home page sidebar to function.

Tavisme....were you able to get it set up the way you wanted? I added a widget to my Slider area and am still getting everything full width and stacked. I had given up for the last 2 weeks thinking maybe I had an issues elsewhere.
Thank you for adding your experience with this theme! I sent in a support ticket and heard nothing.

Ashley, When I added the Genesis Responsive Slider widget to the slider area, all of the sidebars became active. I had other widgets active, but for some reason the slider was necessary. Have you sent a message to the developer?
