Design Tips for Outreach Pro

I want to build a site the home page for which has the following features:
1. Full-width header containing logo and main navigation (I already have this - moved primary navigation into header)
2. Featured image underneath header
3. 2-column (2/3 and 1/3) underneath, for content and sidebar
4. Single column region underneath
5. 3-column underneath for short content regions
6. Full-width footer with partner logos
7. Two-column footer

Interior pages would be simpler -- full-width pages

My questions are -

1. Is Outreach Pro the best theme to use for this? I want the result to be responsive.
2. Given my layout needs above, what is the best way to get the various column-specific content regions onto the HOME page? I'm looking for rough guidance here. I hope there is a way to do this without just putting the raw code into the Home Top and Home Bottom widgets.

Outreach Pro gets many of the items on your list but you'll need to customize some widgets and also add a couple. Basically any Genesis child theme can be customized to do whatever you would like, however, if this is a DIY project, picking a theme that gets you most of the way there might be a good way to start. My advice would be to make a rough drawing of what you'd like your ideal homepage to look like since it's difficult to visualize from a written list. Then I would browse the list of StudioPress themes to see which one is closes, requiring the least amount of changes and go from there.

Ginger - thanks for your important reply. You are so right. After several days with no activity on this thread, I decided to do precisely what you suggest, and found "Workstation Pro". It offered just what I was looking for, and was easy to tweak. I guess I learned something here!
