    I have created a footer menu to put in a widget for a 3 column footer. Under that there is yet another footer which also is showing the menu across the bottom of the whole page (1 column). I want to eliminate that bottom menu, but am unsure where that is set up. Using a child theme of Genesis Frameworks - would this be in the footer.php?

    I don't speak php well, so am unsure what this means:

    genesis_structural_wrap( 'site-inner', 'close' );
    genesis_markup( array(
    	'close'   => '</div>',
    	'context' => 'site-inner',
    ) );

    do_action( 'genesis_before_footer' );
    do_action( 'genesis_footer' );
    do_action( 'genesis_after_footer' );

    genesis_markup( array(
    	'close'   => '</div>',
    	'context' => 'site-container',
    ) );

    do_action( 'genesis_after' );
    wp_footer(); // We need this for plugins.

    genesis_markup( array(
    	'close'   => '</body>',
    	'context' => 'body',
    ) );

    ?>
    </html>

    I don't see anything about the menu there. (a side question, why is the close html tag there at all in the Genesis file?)

    I do have this in the functions.pho file:

    // Add support for 3-column footer widgets.
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 3 );

    // Rename primary and secondary navigation menus.
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-menus', array( 'primary' => __( 'After Header Menu', 'genesis-child' ), 'secondary' => __( 'Footer Menu', 'genesis-child' ) ) );

    // Reposition the secondary navigation menu.
    remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' );
    add_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_do_subnav', 5 );

    // Reduce the secondary navigation menu to one level depth.
    add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_args', 'genesis_child_secondary_menu_args' );
    function genesis_child_secondary_menu_args( $args ) {

    	if ( 'secondary' != $args['theme_location'] ) {
    		return $args;
    	}
    	$args['depth'] = 1;
    	return $args;
    }

    Would i be taking out the references to the secondary navigation menu there? Guidance is needed before I plunge in deeper than I should be going.

    Yippee! So nice to finish out a Friday on a high note. I did have to take out two more sections of code, // Reposition the secondary navigation menu, and / Reduce the secondary navigation menu to one level depth, and voila, the bottom footer menu is gone, but I still have the menu in the 3 column footer. Thanks for the help!
