    I took out the overpowering header so that my content would show on the page more. I like it better, but I miss the "wow" factor.

    You must be modifying it because I see black in there now. But, I like it, however I used Firebug... replaced transparent with the color code #E5E5E5 to the:

    .content-sidebar #inner {

        background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #E5E5E5;
        border: 0 solid #ADADAD !important;
        border-radius: 0 0 0 0;
        margin-bottom: 0;
        margin-top: 0;
        padding: 0;

    }

    This made the site pop a bit more.
