    How do I delete the extra (blank) space below the site footer?? It's driving me nuts.

    What you are calling blank space beneath the footer is the actual footer. The area you are calling the footer is the footer widget area.

    To reduce the height of the footer, set the padding to 0 in the .site-footer CSS at line 1653 in style.css.

    Thank you for your help! I followed your instructions and it seemed like it would work perfectly, but the footer space is still there: http://newwebsite.biomed21.org/. Here's the code--I changed the padding from 40px to 0px. Any suggestions?

    .site-footer {
    background-color: #222;
    border-top: 1px solid rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);
    box-shadow: inset 0 1px rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.07);
    color: #666;
    font-size: 14px;
    padding: 0px 0;
    text-align: center;
    }

    .site-footer a {
    color: #666;
    }

    .site-footer a:hover {
    color: #fff;
    }

    .site-footer p {
    margin-bottom: 0;
    }

    the padding is still showing as '40px 0' here. Have you got caching plugin there that is preventing the style change from showing?
