Hi there. I'm using the Sample Theme with Woocommerce and on the Shop Page (home page) want to create an "area" between the header/menu (.site-inner?) and the content-sidebar layout. Inside this "area" I want to put either a slider or a widget that will display a featured page or a widget that will display 4 posts in a 4-column layout. This area should also only appear on the home page and not on any other page. (The idea is to show off featured categories from the shop)

What is the easy way to do this? If there is no easy way, then what is the hard way? I've tried a bunch of stuff already and I'm getting discouraged.
