Are there any tutorials on how to edit the templates? I'm trying to edit the layout of the single-book template, but it seems that some code is called from the template.php file. I'm trying to figure out how to remove that code and re-add it (with the new layout) in my new single-book template.

Specifically I'd like to flip the featured image and the description and make them 1/2 and 1/2 instead of 2/3 and 1/3.

I'm also trying to move the entry title into the content, but the regular Genesis hooks don't seem to work (it looks like they might be disabled in the plugin??). Any tips?

Copy it over to your child theme and modify it there.

You could change the columns using CSS without copying over the template.
