Custom Script for category pages

Hello Everyone,

I am working on a custom schema for my website based on the Genesis Sample theme. I wish to implement custom Schema markup for Post category pages. but unable to find a head section to insert a script like a post and pages in Genesis.

Please advise how to achieve the same.

There is none for archive pages however you could use the Header and Footer Scripts box. I assume you're using javascript?

The script is page specific so we could not use the Header script box which is common for the entire site. Any idea how to resolve this.

You could try adding a conditional tag in your code. Otherwise, you would need to use PHP code to load a js file conditionally.

Another option is ACF however you would also need PHP for the output.

To choose what is shown on category pages, go to WP Admin » Appearance » Customize » WooCommere » Product Catalog. There you can choose the setting under “Category Display” to show only products, only sub-categories, or both. This should work by default, although it's possible that your theme can override it.

Dear Jhon,

We are not using woocommerce.

We need to add a header script for taxonomy=category. Unlike the post and pages, the header script box is not available for taxonomy in the genesis sample theme.

Any idea how to get it done?
