    Hey. I'm new to Genesis, but not to WP. Using focus child theme, and I'd like to set up a custom header. There are two parts to this question.

    First: I installed the genesis custom header plugin, and filled out the settings page I had some questions (see below) so I checked the support document: http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/setup-custom-header/

    Am I right in guessing that I don't need to follow the setup-custom-header instructions if I've installed the plugin? And if that's so, I'd like to suggest that the support document page be edited to make that clear. Why not point people to the plugin, if there is one?

    Assuming for a moment that this is the case, I'm looking at the settings page for the plugin, where all is clear until I get to the end. There's a box for custom css, and then there's "plugin markup reference' which I take as the model to use and adapt to my own needs.

    Now this may be a dopey question, but what do I do with that markup once I've got it the way I want it (see below)? Where do I put it? I'm pretty comfortable with basic wp coding and with css, but these instructions seem to be incomplete.

    Thanks for whatever help you can provide.

    <!-- Frontend Plugin Markup -->

    <div class="gch-header">
       <div class="gch-header-inner wrap">

          <div class="gch-header-image">
             <div class="gch-header-image-inner">
                <img src="xxxx">
             </div>
          </div>
          <div class="gch-header-content">
            <p>xxxxxx</p>
          </div>
       </div>
    </div>

    I'm not sure we can help you here. This site is handled by volunteers and we can only answer questions about Studio Press themes. You are using a third party plugin to work around built-in Genesis features. Unless someone else reviewing this has used that particular plugin, you best opportunity for an answer is to ask it in the plugin's support forum.

    Victor -- thank you for getting back to me. The plugin is by Genesis, so I didn't think it would be classified as a third-party. I'll go to the support people directly.

    This is the list of Genesis plugins developed by Studio Press: http://www.studiopress.com/plugins

    There is no Genesis Custom Header plugin on this list.
