custom.css file in Prose theme

Hello.  I'm new to Studio Press themes , and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.  If not, can you point me in the right direction?

I downloaded Prose theme yesterday, and I'd like to customize the css.  The instructions say to use the custom.css file in the css folder (not style.css).

My download doesn't include a css folder.  I tried re-downloading Prose today to see if I'd deleted it by accident, and it's still not there.

Where can I find this file?  Is this something I'm supposed to create?

You can access your style.css file right from your WordPress dashboard.

Appearance, Editor, scroll down to were you stylesheet.css.

I would recommend you seek some information on how to customize your  (Stylesheet.css ) before making any changes.

These instructions might be regarding the old Prose 1.0 version which had such a file. In spring of this year updated version 1.5/ 1.5.1 of Prose was released which no longer features a "custom.css" file. Instead, it has a custom CSS section which you'll find directly under Genesis Settings as a submenu. There you can add your custom rules or override existing rules (with added "!important").

In the case of Prose, it is NEVER recommended to touch the downloaded files! With version 1.5 and higher Prose has the ability for automatic updates included. In case of an update you'll lost all customizations. So only use the provided sub settings page and add your CSS and custom functions (there's an extra field for that too 🙂 there.

Hi, I can't seem to locate any type of custom CSS section in my Prose. I've looked under the Genesis submenu as you suggested but there is no option for custom coding. And as mtalley mentioned, I no longer have the option to view my custom.css from the editor any more. I looked in Genesis Design settings but nothing is there except a link at the bottom that reads "Note: Use the Editor to add/edit custom CSS." But that is a broken link leading nowhere.

I know my custom.css has to be somewhere because all of the changes I made in it (from the editor) are still being recognized. As far as I know, I have the latest versions of Genesis and Prose installed.

Any ideas?
