    Hello Everyone,
I am almost finished with a website for a client, http://www.mallyssalon.com, and I would appreciate immensely if YOU can constructively critique it and make some suggestions on how I can enhance the overall look. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I enjoy working on websites and working my way to learning some advanced skills; not there yet... so your expertise is great!

P.S., In the 'featured bottom' subnav bar, I don't want to use it but I noticed some unwanted text. Where is it located so that I can remove it from the box.

    Thank you,

    Sylvia

Hello I think you did a great job very simple, but good. You can remove the text from featured bottom by accessing your widget section in your dashboard there should be a widget named ( featured bottom ) just remove the text for it and save your changes.

To speed up the process please post the link to the website in question.

    Sylvia,

The other thing I noticed is that the picture of your client is distorted in the slider and in the featured image that goes with the post about her. That often happens when you have a square or vertical photo and the theme has to stretch it into a horizontal space.

For the slider, you probably want to take the highest-resolution copy of that photo you have and crop it to a horizontal format - maybe so we only see her face and upper body, and as much of her background as shows up in that vertical space.

That would work for the post thumbnail, too. Or you could designate a different shape for that photo - make the thumbnail vertical - then have it float left and have the text excerpt wrap the picture to the right.

    Overall, nice job!

    Mary

Thank you Robg and Mary for your comments and compliments.

Robg - I looked for the 'feature bottom' widget and even searched for it as a plugin to no avail. I put another widget in its place to remove the text.

Mary - you are so correct about that image, in fact, I had already talked to my client about it and she sent me a more recent one.

    Thanks again!
