Hi,
I am new to WordPress and Genesis and have been setting up my new Child Theme and it is making things a lot simpler than I have expected. Now looking at the Studiopress site I can see they are using the wp-login.php for access into the my.studiopress.com are and showing certain content to loged-in user. Is this a plug-in that I need to get in order to do this? If so do you happen to know which plug-in is Studipress using?
Thanks in advance!

Andrea has an excellent point and idea.I would just add that doing membership functions ranges from very simple to very complex, so it's important to think about exactly what you need. If you want to go the plugin route, there are loads of them, some totally free. S2 is a strong choice, although it's probably too big for some people's needs. I've also seen specialized ones that look interesting on Code Canyon.
Good luck,
Dave

If you have a chance, when you choose a method, please describe your membership scenario and how it went for you. Membership is always a challenge, and that might help us!Cheers, Dave

November 9, 2013 at 7:10 pm #71922AntxonMemberHi Brad,
Thanks for your response. In regards Studiopress are they using bbPress for their "My Studiopress" section (controlling access into the themes based on what the end user has purchased i.e. Framework+Theme or Pro)?
Sorry for my late response, I was stuck doing some house work and could not jump in a reply.
November 9, 2013 at 7:18 pm #71926Brad DaltonParticipantHi
I think they're using a custom theme for My StudioPress and have added bbPress for the forum.
Not sure what they use for members access to the themes however i would say they're using the bbPress functions for login to the forum.
I setup bbPress and S2member for a client and it worked well together.
November 9, 2013 at 7:29 pm #71930AntxonMemberHi,
Awesome, I will play around with S2member once I have sorted out all the customization on my theme. I am going through the learning curve at this stage so every tweak is based on inspecting elements and then making changes! So once the website is ready I will then play around with the members component (just making sure I have a good roadmap in place in terms of the direction I want to take with my blog/website).
Thanks for sharing the suggestion around using bbPress and S2member together! Plenty of food for thought!
Cheers,
Antxon
