    Hello
    I was wondering whether there are some Genesis functions/filters I could use to create an excerpt of some custom field text - what I've discovered is that blog excerpts are actually wrapped into <p></p> tags - I couldn't figure out what function is actually doing that - I'd like to use the same settings for my custom text so it would use the read more button/text and read more word limit.

    any help is very much appreciated.

    Yes, you can use wp_trim_words
