Quite puzzled by this. Am trying to increase the content text size on the Metric theme. I have modifed the CSS to show:
background: #002838 url(images/bg.png) repeat-x;
font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Verdana;
margin: 0 auto 0;
instead of the 12 px font-size that was there, but it doesn't seem to make any difference on the actual site.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Where did you modify the css? It is still showing font-size 12px. So depending on how you modified it, you either did not save or did not upload the file.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Here is the path:
I modified the style.css file that I had downloaded to my computer from the site's themes folder as per the path shown. I made the mods, and then ftp'd the saved modified style.css back to the metric folder under the themes directory on the server.
Can't see where else it should have gone.
Still no change on my site??
What you describe is correct. I suspect you have a caching plugin, either on your site or on your hosting server. They will muck you up all the time, and have you scratching your head like a mad person. You need to turn it off while you are developing the site or keep flushing it after every change you make.
Yes, I do. Will disable it and see what's what.
Yes, you nailed it. Thanks! The W3C cache was impeding the reloading of the pages, I guess.
So, a lesson learned. The cache system is supposed to help the page load faster, but now, I'm not so sure it's a good thing, and I will delete it from all my WP sites now.
Well it's a total pain in the derriere when developing a site.
For sure. Thank you again for your kind assistance.
