    I'm trying to create a custom php template that would display content above the posts I've categorized. For example, I'm using the category Culture in the navigation and have assigned two blog posts to it.

    I would like to have some introduction content about this specific category but realize I can't do this since it's no longer a regular page. My question is how do I implement a simple and clean solution to have both my introduction text and categorized blog posts show up on (category/culture) page?? http://riskybusiness.kcic.com/category/culture

    Or is it better to revert to a regular page and use a custom page and loop? Any help or insight on how to best do this will be greatly appreciated.

    You can actually add a heading and description to your category pages - it's built into Genesis. (And you can add styling for them in your stylesheet.) Just go to Posts > Categories, click the edit link for one of them, and you'll see the Category Archive Settings toward the bottom of the page.

    Here's an example from one of my clients' sites: http://www.actionphototips.com/category/sports-2/

    Hi nutsandbolts!

    Thanks for your insight I totally overlooked this. How did you get the image of the camera in the headline. I'd like to include an image along with some text, is it possible put html in the text area?

    This is the CSS I used to style the titles:

    .archive-title {
    	font-size: 30px;
    	font-size: 3rem;
    	margin-bottom: 24px;
    	margin-bottom: 2.4rem;
            padding-left: 50px;
            background: url(images/archives.png) left no-repeat;
    }
