Hi Folks,
I have used the responsive slider perfectly on another genesis framework site using the Magazine pro theme but I am building a new site using Community pro, and the slider is behaving very differently! Here are the problems:
1. On the home page in the widget area, the slider box seems to be thickly padded to the right of the image (image sized at 920 x 400, as the theme media requires), displaying a white space within the container box (about 15% of the overall container width). It doesn't look so bad on iPad (maybe only a 5% white space) and on my iphone it's not visible at all. I have altered the slider width in settings, and also played with different sized images to no avail. The white space remains. Can't see anything in the plugin CSS. Anyone out there got any suggestions?
2. The notion of a 'responsive' slider implies it'll work out of the box on all devices, but sadly the title goes haywire on iphone. The iPad is OK, but on iphone the title text absolutely explodes and only the bottom lines are visible, and each new slide features some bleed from the previous slider title text. Looks dreadful.
When I disable the title in mobile devices of course it all goes away but what's the point?
We run an events venue, we need the show title to appear in the slider. Mobile accounts for 70% of our traffic.
I've read a few posts here and outside and it seems to be a widespread issue but wondering if anyone has found a fix? I have played with Soliloquy but I am so busy that I don't want to have to double-handle information and images. I'm looking for a slider that will grab event titles and throw them into the slider with the featured images.Hope someone out there in the community has some suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I know other people will have had other experiences, but my experience with the Genesis Responsive Slider has shown me that it's weird and flaky...I wasted a lot of time trying to use it on a few sites, and then switched over to Soliloquy and have had much better luck. There are lots of other sliders out there, too, of course.
In addition to the fact that Soliloquy actually does what it's supposed to do, the guy updates it very regularly.

I put in an official support ticket and got this response:
Thanks for asking!
The slider may be set to 920px wide, but the widget area it is in is set to a max-width of 1140px. This means there will be leftover space - basically that white area.
If the theme directions are stating this for the slider, then the author will need to change this. Any styling on mobile is from the theme itself, not the slider css.
We ask our community theme developers to support their themes directly. They will be most familiar with the theme and it will make them aware of any bugs that might come up. You may reach the developer here:

Best,
So I've put in a support ticket with the community pro people and will share my progress so that it might help others out there having a similar issue.

I had the same problem but now i found your answer and she disappeared.July 27, 2015 at 1:25 am #160553martinecMemberJust wanted to log my adventures in this exercise, so here's the latest update.
I spoke with the community pro theme designers and they responded with this:
Unfortunately, the theme wasn't designed for a slider, and so we didn't include support for it when we built it out. Therefore, you'll have to do some CSS customizing in order to make it look like you want.
A good place to start for that would be the StudioPress forums, as we don't offer support for customizing the theme beyond how it looks in the demo.
When I pushed further, they responded with this:

You'll need to apply styles to the appropriate CSS styles of the widget. I don't have a list of those styles around, as I didn't build the widget. What I do, in these types of scenarios, is use the Inspect Element tool in the Chrome browser, which will tell you the classes of all the elements, and even let you preview changes within the tool. To use it, just right click on your slider, and select "Inspect Element".
When I find the fix I'll put it up here.
