    I just upgraded to Genesis 2.7, and existing comments are no longer appearing. I cannot be sure that they were appearing before I upgraded, so I cannot be sure that is the cause. But I can't think of anything else that I have done recently.

    The comments are still in the database (I checked that with phpMyAdmin) and new comments appear, but old ones don't, right through the entire site.

    Has anyone else had a similar problem?

    Check your settings on the WordPress Settings/Discussion page, especially the time for closing comments.

    Thanks for your thought, but that isn't it.

    But I have another clue. In the comments listing in the dashboard, there is no entry under "In response to", and when I use phpMyAdmin, that field is now blank for every comment (which I didn't notice before). That means that while all the comments are still in the database, they are not associated with any particular post, so that explains why they don't appear.

    So I'm not sure if that could have happened when upgraded to Genesis 2.7. it sounds to me more like my host has done something I can't think of anything I have done to affect the database in that way.

    I'll check with my host, but if you have any thoughts on how the upgrade might have affected this, I would appreciate that. Thanks.

    I don’t thing the Genesis update had anything to do with this. I’ve updated 25 sites without issue.

    OK thanks. I've contacted my host and will see what they say.
