    HI there,

Im having a first go at genesis with the latest digital pro child theme.

Going pretty smooth so far, except for the fact the colons are not displayed correctly ( ":" turns into a middle dot or whatchamacallthem)

Any ideas of what im missing?

    fyi: im working locally.

It depends on the font you use. Some fonts represent characters differently that that to which we are accustomed. Use the entity code for colons: :

Sorry, I can't get the code to display without it rendering as a colon. Here's a cheatsheet: http://www.cheatography.com/davechild/cheat-sheets/html-character-entities/

    Hi Victor!

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question.

Im afraid the problem lies deeper.

If you take a look at for instance how I added some other fonts in the footer scripts:
    http://recordit.co/d8zRSsgdDg.gif

And the fact that all colons are showing as this middle dot in the front, like so:

In the meanwhile I will create a fresh install to see what happens, perhaps I editted something somewhere in css that created this problem in the first place.

Nope, fresh install gives the same problem.

Looks like its inside the child theme itself, though this feels like a very bold statement coming from a rookie like me.

    What am I doing wrong?

via the facebook group somebody by the name of Thomas Grau mentioned that this problem is caused by the font Neuton itself.

Im going to try and confirm, but since im new at this it might take a while.

confirmed and case closed: for some reason the Neuton font does not print the colon sign ( : ) correctly.
by replacing it with a different font you will be able to get it right.
