I am using an edited/customized version of Georgia child theme and after I upgraded to the new Genesis the theme is broken (sidebars stripped, everything aligns left, styling stripped, etc etc). I have checked all the coding in functions.php of the child theme and nothing seems off.

I've installed Georgia theme (original one) onto the site and it works fine, when I use my custom theme it breaks. I have even copied over (exactly) the Georgia theme functions.php and style sheet and it's still.. broken.

Any tips, suggestions, ideas as to why this might be happening?

Did you put spaces, capital letters, or other characters like that in your child theme folder name?
