Change the size of captions in Outreach slider

I would like to change the slider on the homepage https://www.urbanadvantagenyc.org/ to have a smaller area around the text and also smaller txt. I used this in my style.css file

#genesis-responsive-slider h2{
font-size: 14px;
}

html > body .slide-excerpt-border {
background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) !important;
}`

But that did nothing. I also want these to have outbound links, not links to a post on the site. Can someone help?
