In the theme I'm working with (a customized version of Sixteen-Nine Pro), pagination is working perfectly except for the labels on the boxes - instead of simply being labelled 1 - 2 - 3 - etc. each one is labelled Page 1 - Page 2 - Page 3 - etc.

I don't see where I can specify the label to use in wp-admin - if someone could let me know I would appreciate.

More likely, I will have to filter the output with some code in functions.php - I am comfortable adding that but don't know what the filter code required might be.

It sound like you already have a customization to add the Page text. As delivered, Sixteen-Nine Pro is setup for numeric pagination. Either that, or you are missing the CSS for the screen reader text. Screen reader text is a an accessibility feature. When accessibility is activated, Genesis automatically inserts the word "Page" in front of the page numbers so people requiring screen readers can hear the word Page. The screen reader text has a CSS class named screen-reader-text. If you use your browser's inspect tool, you can see if the Page has the the screen-reader-text class. If it does and you're seeing the word, you're missing the CSS. You can find it in this site's snippets area.

Yes - it was the missing Screen Reader Text classes and styles in the CSS.

    Thanks very much!
