    I've read a few articles on how two change my Genesis child theme name, but I'm still a little confused.

    In the following code from my Executive child theme functions.php page, what exactly needs to be edited to rename the theme?

    <?php
    /** Start the engine */
    require_once( get_template_directory() . '/lib/init.php' );

    load_child_theme_textdomain( 'executive', apply_filters( 'child_theme_textdomain', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/languages', 'executive' ) );

    /** Child theme (do not remove) */
    define( 'CHILD_THEME_NAME', __( 'Executive Theme', 'executive' ) );
    define( 'CHILD_THEME_URL', 'http://www.studiopress.com/themes/executive' );

    /** Add Viewport meta tag for mobile browsers */

    ----------------

    Thanks.

    I use these instructions: http://www.wpsyntax.com/wordpress/how-to-rename-genesis-child-theme

    /** Child theme (do not remove) */
    define( ‘CHILD_THEME_NAME’, __( ‘Executive Theme’, ‘executive’ ) );

    So, in the example you provided, you would replace 'Executive Theme' with the name of your child theme.

    Thanks Susan.

    Those are the instructions I found too.

    If I also change the name of the child theme directory, would I need to replace the 'executive' reference as well? If so, do you know of any other directory references that would require changing?

    Thanks again for your help.

    I've changed a child theme name using the tutorial I linked to, but I didn't bother changing references to the original child theme name in any other places.

    Susan: If we rename the child theme via tutorial above, say from Agency to MyNewAgency, will we still get update notifications in WP when SP brings out a new version of Agency?
