I would like to change the theme name of the agency-pro child theme. If anybody has done this on this theme or on another genesis child theme could you tell me exactly what to do to accomplish this. Thanks

The minimum you have to do is change the detail in the first few lines of the style.css

If you want to do a 'proper job' you should also search and replace 'agency-pro' with your name and also do a quick read through of the files.

Thanks for the reply. I have changed the few lines at the top of the css page. What I wanted to do was change the name on the child theme folder itself so that when someone checks my site with developer tools it shows as my theme name rather than Agency-Pro. When I go inside my public folder on my hosting account and change the theme name there it is causing weird problems with my site. The main issue is that my site navigation will not show even though I have my menu widget in place just as before . Then when I change the name back to agency pro the navigation works again it is really annoying can't figure it out seems like a PHP problem. Any ideas anyone?

It is easier if you change things before you start creating the site.

Widgets store options based on theme name.

Create a COPY of the theme you have created. Rename the folder. Rename everything in it.

Before you 'activate' the new theme get a Widget Export / Import plugin installed

    Export the widget settings

    Change the theme

    Import the widget settings

Turns out it was a plugin conflict. Deactivated my plugins and simply renamed the folder with everything working well now. Thanks for the help.
