    Hi,

    I'm using the Magazine Pro theme. My default category and tag archives display the full post content up to the <!--more--> link cut-off.

    Instead, I would like for my category and tag archive pages to only display post thumbnails with the post titles below. My main content width is wide enough to accommodate about four thumbnails per row.

    Can someone please point me to a tutorial or plugin that can help me achieve this? I've searched and searched and can't find any instructions.

    Thank you!
    Kathryne

    I'm using Genesis Framework and would also love to know the answer to this.

    Here's a simple solution which uses CSS code http://wpsites.net/web-design/display-only-featured-image-title-on-different-content-archives-using-css/

    That trick worked great, but I want to remove the post excerpt from the HTML, too. I worry about getting penalized by google if my site doesn't display all of the content built into the HTML.

    No, I don't think display:none ever actually removes html from the source code. It just prevents the element from appearing on the front end. Using display:none is a good way to get in trouble with google.

    I'd love to find a solution to this issue. I've tried using Bill Erickson's grid plugin, but couldn't make it do what I wanted it to do. I have also heard that I could create portfolio archives pages that can display thumbnails and post titles in a grid, which would be terrific, but I can't figure out how to make that happen, either!

    Not true: I don't think Google will penalize you for using display: none;

    The only other solution is to create a custom archive template and code it with the title and thumbnail.

    My solution to this, in case anyone's wondering, was to install the Genesis Post Teasers plugin.
