I'm still learning Gutenberg and Atomic blocks and seem to be in a wrestling match with both. I'm using Monochrome Pro and have tried creating my homepage from scratch or with the provided starter pack. I prefer creating from scratch. However, I can't get rid of the "Home" label on my homepage and the white space that goes with it. I have the container below it set with top margin:0.

The "Home" is the page title. See this snippet: https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/snippets/entry-header-html5/remove-entry-title/

That snippet will remove the entry title on every page on your site, so for the home page only, you should either create your own page template, or wrap the snippet in a WordPress conditional. https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/basics/conditional-tags/

@di if you have the latest version of Genesis, go to the Edit screen and you should see where you can check the box to Hide Title. That was a feature added in 3.1.0 (Editor: Add a “hide title” checkbox to the Genesis sidebar in the block editor."

So when I use the starter pack and it does not have an entry title on the home page, is it because the pack set up its own snippet?

Just curious why the designer would have included a defaulted entry header in the first place? I've never seen websites with a big "HOME" home on them, so obviously they're always removed.

@Anita, thanks for your reply. I thought I remember seeing a place to select this, however couldn't find it. When you say Edit Screen, where in the menu is this found? Thanks again.

@Anita, found it! For all you out there like me...go to selected page and then to the Genesis icon in the upper right menu. It's there!
