    Hi!

I can't seem to change the size of the featured image in the post excerpt (front page). Under Genesis > Theme Settings, I've tried to switch between the different default sizes such as medium and large. On the website though absolutely nothing changes - I've already emptied the cache and regenerated thumbnail images, but I just keep seeing 225x300 images (those are also the natural dimensions). I've also tried add_image_size( 'smaller-thumb-hardcrop', 100, 100, true ); in functions.php (the numbers above are arbitrary), and although it shows up under Genesis > Theme Settings - again, nothing actually changes when I select it.

What I'm after is showing featured images with the same width as excerpts. Although I could simply add width: 100%; in the style.css, I would then still be stuck with the natural dimensions, which I need to change too. Am I overlooking something here...?

Thanks a lot for any help!

    Rosa

This has come up a couple of times in the past few days. WordPress uses a function called wp_make_content_images_responsive function to generate the responsive srcset. I walked through the WordPress code and the 225x300 size is coming from a variable from the original image attachment you added as the featured image in the post. The function hard codes this dimension in the generated HTML. I haven't researched it deeply enough to determine if there's an override. You can either try changing the featured image on the post to use the correct size or Google how to disable the srcset in WordPress.
