Is it possible to create a blog page that only shows posts for certain categories? Like if I wanted to create a page tab that only shows posts for a certain category. And if so, how would I link that category to that one page?
February 1, 2013 at 1:35 pm #17139SoZoMemberJust add the category to your menu

February 1, 2013 at 1:57 pm #17151mrwritemediaMemberOK I know how to create a menu but how do I create that as a subpage/tab?
February 1, 2013 at 2:01 pm #17154mrwritemediaMemberI guess I'm confused on created pages and menus.
February 1, 2013 at 2:20 pm #17157SoZoMemberTo create drop downs you drag the menu items right so that they are indented beneath the parent item

February 1, 2013 at 3:45 pm #17210mrwritemediaMemberI know that but how do I get the menu I create to show up as a page tab? Do I need to create menus for all page tabs, plus the ones I want for the specific categories? Right now I just have created pages, no menus.
February 1, 2013 at 4:20 pm #17220SoZoMemberI don't know what you mean by getting a menu to show as a page tab. You create menus in Appearance=>Menus. You can add whatever you want to a menu, pages, categories, tags, custom links, etc.

February 1, 2013 at 4:36 pm #17223mrwritemediaMemberI know but when I make the Menu in the "Primary Navigation Menu" it takes away all the other page tabs. I think we might be talking about two different things - Menus vs. Page tabs
February 1, 2013 at 4:37 pm #17224SoZoMemberWhat do you mean by page tabs? What is your URL?

February 1, 2013 at 4:43 pm #17229mrwritemediaMemberThe tabs at the top of my website for my pages. That you click on to go to the different pages. I want to create an subpage under Blog that shows only posts for a certain category. I know how to create a menu for a certain category, I just want it to show up under the Blog page tab when I mouse over that page tab.
February 1, 2013 at 4:45 pm #17231SoZoMemberThat is a menu. Go into Appearance=>Menus, add the category to your menu that you are using in the Primary position and drag it to the right beneath "Blog"

February 1, 2013 at 4:54 pm #17235mrwritemediaMemberI did that and it does not show up. I named my menu "Free Energy" If I select it in the Primary Navigation Menu, then the is the ONLY tab the shows on my site. All others disappear.
Also, I never created individual menus for my page tabs. I just created new Pages and named them and put them in order of appearance.
February 1, 2013 at 5:02 pm #17241SoZoMemberAre you running the latest version of Genesis, 1.9.1? You're going to need to create a menu with all the items that you want in it and assign it to the Primary position.

August 20, 2013 at 2:11 pm #57672nkitchen31MemberOkay, but how do you create a page template like it automatically creates when you make a new menu item, without having to make it a menu item?
I want to create a PAGE that has the same appearance as the Blog Template, but with only certain CATEGORIES or even as specific as certain POSTS.
Thank you in advance!
