    Adding a featured image to Monochrome Pro adds it as a banner to the top of the page as well as adds in the image of the author of that post.

    However, I really don't want that to be mandatory. Other Genesis themes have a toggle that says "show featured image" (or similar) and there is the option to not show that featured image in the post.

    Can that be done for Monochrome Pro? And, if so, how?

    I want to keep the featured images for the blog index and other functions (social image, etc), but I do not want that image to show on the individual post header area, nor do I want the author image to show.

    The reason is that the client is... lazy. Those images will not be done properly for that venue and the entire effect will look like crap. So, I want to keep the flexibility of the Monochrome Pro theme (which is really very nice) and not have the featured image option so that the posts can be streamlined as much as possible.

    (Similarly, I have the same issue with Essence Pro, where the header image is not always a desirable asset).

    Thank you for any help you can give.

    Yes but would need to modify the PHP code.

    Hi Rob, I'm after the same info. Looks like there hasn't been a solution yet (apart from the indication that we would have to make changes to php).
    Did you manage to figure it out?
    Best regards,

    Indika,

    I ended up putting in a bit of CSS into the Customizer.

    .entry-background {
    	background-image: none !important;
    }

    You can add this to the custom CSS section in the customiser -

    .full-width-content.featured-image .site-inner {
      margin-top:100px;
    }

    .entry-background {
      display: none;
    }

    .entry-avatar .avatar {
      display: none;
    }

    Thanks so much Rob and Andy! It did the trick! 🙂
    Thanks once again and take care.
