I need a responsive WP theme for a couple of real estate clients. Studiopress has the most bulletproof child themes I've ever used, so I want to use Agent Press.

But, when I open the Agent Press demo in desktop mode, the visual experience is as if somebody has jammed a printed advertising flyer page up in my face. All the elements such as the various content boxes (search box, "We help you find a dream home," and "Don't worry" are HUGE on a normal desktop monitor. To me, they're intrusive.

I suspect this may be the inherent compromise we have to live with when creating a responsive theme.

Question: can these elements be downsized, and/or can the page width be made smaller-- which will make all those boxes automatically get smaller? These elements are otherwise just visually overwhelming in my opinion.

Question 2: can the listing photos, such as those on the home page which are 500x300 px, display the normal 3:2 aspect ratio that most cameras produce? Or will the photos have to be cropped to accommodate the size?

    Hi Dr. Weevil,

This is not a compromise of using a responsive theme, rather a result of design choices to fill a niche. This style (generally) is quite popular, but can be tweaked, downsized, etc. (Of course, once you change one thing, several others must follow.) The images can be specified to be a different size, and will be automatically cropped or resized on upload. CSS changes must follow this as well.

There are also choices from almost 3 dozen Genesis-powered real estate themes. Winning Agent is a little less bold, as are theme designs from Agent Evolution, Web Savvy Marketing and Realty Candy. Have a browse at my site:

Thanks Tom. Nice collection of themes. I will look through them.
