I am starting the process of moving manually an entire website to WP, using Metro Pro theme. Currently at staging phase. Very pleased with the results until now.

There is one small issue I have not been able to solve, however. A few articles have several authors - people who only wrote once for the website, no repeat authors. I decided to install Co-Authors Plus (and I tried Genesis Co-Authors plus in additon), and created a guest author status for each of them.

Everything seemed to go well, the names of the author or authors were showing in my WP panel next to each article. However, when I checked the live site at the temporary URL, I noticed that their names didn't show on the website itself: only the name of the admin (me) who had added them was showing.

I discovered that assigning them author status (instead of guest author) solved the issue. Thus I did it (even if it is silly to create so many author positions for single articles), and it works... except for multiple authors. When there are two authors, only the first one is listed (below the article title: "By .....").

I don't need author boxes on that website. I only need to have the names of the authors showing below the title, in the "By ...." line, after the date: "6 June 2016 by John and James".

I suspect that it is very easy, a simple trick that I have not found... but how to do it? All the instructions and tricks I have found online are about multiple authors at the end of the article, in a box, etc., but not about the "By ...." line.

Did anybody come across the same issue and found a simple way to solve it?

    Hi,

Bill Erickson's tutorial should help here: http://www.billerickson.net/wordpress-post-multiple-authors/
