In Nathan Rice's post at http://www.studiopress.com/important-announcement-for-genesis-plugin-developers/ he announced breaking changes in the term meta system in Genesis 2.2.7 set to release Monday March 7th, 2016.

I'd like to request delaying the release of 2.2.7 to increase the time authors have to insure their code will work with these changes. This applies not only to authors of publicly available plugins but those of us who do custom development work that involves Genesis term meta. I shudder to think that a client from 2 years ago with code using Genesis's term meta will unknowingly update only to find their site broken.

Additionally, I'd like to see the Genesis version number incremented to reflect this major change. While Genesis does not use Semantic Versioning, in my opinion there is a general view that the third digit in the version number indicates a bug fix rather than a breaking change and therefore it would be appropriate to increment the version number to a minimum of 2.3.0.

It is a pleasure to build on the Genesis framework and I appreciate all you do to maintain and grow it. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

    Thanks for your feedback!

Nathan will be updating the blog post shortly, but will be pulling the change you mentioned out of 2.2.7 to allow plugin authors more time.
