I've been reading about Bootstrap 4 a bit lately, and I was just wondering if anyone could share their thoughts / experiences in using Bootstrap with Genesis. From what I've seen, some people prefer to keep the PHP structure and hooks of Genesis, while using Bootstrap for the CSS. Anyone use this kind of work flow? Any other thoughts? Just looking for some healthy discussion!

    Hi,

little late but thought I chime in 😉

Sal has a version of Genesis running with Bootstrap 3.
    https://github.com/salcode/bootstrap-genesis

You can see in https://github.com/salcode/bootstrap-genesis/blob/develop/lib/bootstrap-markup.php how to add the bootstrap classes to certain Genesis HTML elements.

There seems to be a newer project here using Bootstrap 4 but I haven't really looked at it. https://github.com/webdevsuperfast/bootstrap-for-genesis

I'm usually happy with the standard Genesis CSS and extend it with Flex or Grid.
Also interesting to look at so called utility CSS frameworks like TailwindCSS that only provide utilities not components for styling.
