For some of my genesis sites the blog template was completely removed, for others it's still there but the page is blank. This is after upgrading genesis.

I saw in the forum that I can copy the blog template from a previous version of genesis into the child theme folder. I did this. It added the blog template back to the site, but like the others the blog page is blank.

How do I fixed an empty blog page that is set to the Blog Template?

    Example: https://www.lakewoods.net/blog/

The Genesis developers do not recommend using the blog template. That's why it was removed from 3.0. When 3.0 is installed, it checks if the blog template was in use on the site. If it was, then Genesis moves the blog template to the child theme folder.

Genesis still supports using query_args to build a custom blog page. Here are the details: https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/usage/genesis-features/create-a-custom-blog-page/

If the Genesis developers thought we should not use the blog template, then how do we generate a blog page.

I am using Magazine Pro v3.3 for my site.

Under Settings -> Reading, I have "Your Home Page Displays" set to "Your Latest Posts."

But of course the Magazine Pro theme does not display latest posts on the home page. (Unless I missed a setting somewhere). In any case, I don't want all posts to be listed on the home page. I want to have another page that lists all the bog posts.

Any guidance on how to do this?

The only thing I've figured out to do is to create a catch all category and put all posts into the catch all category. Then I can direct people to the category page and the genesis arcive page settings apply.

Another option is to create a new page named blog and use that as your posts page using the Reading settings?
