    I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to edit the blog template in Genesis Framework. The template I have is called: page_blog.php and it is the default template I believe. The code inside the template is the following:

    <?php
    /**
     * Genesis Framework.
     *
     * WARNING: This file is part of the core Genesis Framework. DO NOT edit this file under any circumstances.
     * Please do all modifications in the form of a child theme.
     *
     * @package Genesis\Templates
     * @author  StudioPress
     * @license GPL-2.0+
     * @link    http://my.studiopress.com/themes/genesis/
     */

    //* Template Name: Blog

    //* The blog page loop logic is located in lib/structure/loops.php
    genesis();

    I would assume that I need to edit the file in this location: /genesis/ lib/structure/loops.php which I found by the way but struggling to make changes to it.

    What I am trying to do is put some content above the blog template. Any input on the matter?

    Regards,

    You can hook it in using a custom function or create a blog page template in your child theme.

    Here's a very basic version http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/blog-page-content/

    You can then add content in your editor after selecting the page template as your posts page.

    Modifying any Genesis files will be lost when you update Genesis and may cause immediate errors in your site.
