I'm setting up the Darling theme by Restored 316. The blog post excerpts at the bottom of my homepage are formatted unevenly (latest posts section). It appears to have something to do with my image sizes. I contacted the theme designer and they suggested using the regenerate thumbnails plugin - I tried that and it didn't help.
On my previous theme, I set my pictures to 700 px wide until recently starting to set them at 560 px wide so that they would come through correctly full text in MailChimp for my subscribers. I would still prefer them to stretch the full width of my blog post content, but for now I'm sticking with 560 px until I can find a solution for my MailChimp obstacle.
I have about 50 blog posts with varying image dimensions because my other theme was different. I've tried to make the featured images the same vertical height on my 3 most recent posts to test to see if this would help with the latest posts section on my homepage. It does change things, but I still can't get everything to line up evenly.
The latest posts area looks even on the top row and even though the height of the images on the bottom row are not the same as the top row, they look nice as well. They are lining up.
On tablet size, the about section boxes are not lining up. That's because floats need exact heights and the text About Woven Beautiful is too long and shifts on two lines. Make it shorter.
I shortened About Woven Beautiful - thanks for catching that.
In the first screenshot above, I made the 3 photos the same dimensions. The bottom 3 I haven't fixed yet but I will work on editing my other photos. 🙂 I'm curious, why is the line with the 3 diamonds at the bottom of each excerpt (above the category name and comment count) at a different height per post, rather than being even? Is the actual content impacting this? Is there a way to make it even?
