    I'm building a site using the Genesis framework and Sample Child theme. It will ultimately sell a few products both in the US and overseas. What is the best (easiest to understand; I'm this will be my first eCommerce site) E commerce plugin to use that will work well with Genesis? I'm lookin at Woo Commerce right now but it might be over kill.....any guidance or starting points would be super; thanks in advance!!

    WooCommerce is very well documented and quite straightforward to set up. You will need to use the Genesis Connect for WooCommerce plugin.

    Ok thank you that's what I'm researching on actually. Do I need to install the Genesis Connect before installing the Woo Commerce itself?

    As you are not using the Agency theme, I believe you also need to add some code to your functions file and then install Genesis Connect, otherwise WooCommerce will want to use its own themes.

    /** Add product post type support for Geneiss layouts */
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-connect-woocommerce' );
    add_post_type_support( 'product', 'genesis-layouts' );

    Install WooCommerce

    Add code to functions file

    Install the Connect Plugin

    Click button that showed up that says INSTALL WOO COMMERCE PAGES or am I not doing that now since I'm using a Genesis theme?..

    Add code to functions files
    Install Connect plugin and activate
    Install Woo Commerce and activate.
    Read this article which explains a lot http://www.studiograsshopper.ch/web-development/how-to-use-genesis-connect-for-woocommerce/

    Does it matter where to paste the code in the functions PHP?

    Curious how your ecommerce site is coming along. I'll need to build my first one soon and wondered where to start. I've been using StudioPress but haven't delved into ecommerce. Looks like WooCommerce is the way to go. Are you finding it easy to use?

    Funny, a similar conversation is going on in this thread, too:
