Is there a way to hard code in the image so that it can be loaded via CDN?
You can see the waterfall on gtmetrix here
Look in functions.php for this line of code:
$image = get_option( 'digital-front-image', sprintf( '%s/images/front-page-1.jpg', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() ) );
Change it to:
$image = "path to CDN image";
