Hi, on this site http://battlemountaintourism.charterproof.com I'm having problems with the background image. I'm using the "Background" upload and the theme is "Metro."

The background image is 1400 pixels wide and is supposed to tile to fill the screen. Instead, the image shows live as severly zoomed in. It's not even showing the whole 1400px wide image — it's zoomed in and shows about 25% of the full image no matter how I resize my screen.

Please look at this site which is how the background is supposed to look (not zoomed in at all): http://battlemountaintourism.com/

How do I "tell" the background to not zoom in like this? The background image is the same for both sites. I've never had this problem on any other StudioPress theme sites.

    Thanks,

It's behaving perfectly. This is backstretch.js and you have a 400px tall image. Therefore, at 1080px tall, it is stretched vertically nearly 3x - there is no repeating in backstretch. You either need to make a much bigger image (dumb) or not use backstretch and use it as a repeating background image that is MUCH smaller.

BTW, on the main site, it repeats so often, it looks like cheap Microsoft background textures. Either choose a background without so many visible markers of the repeating pattern or use a large enough image that it doesn't need to repeat (which will be incredibly large in file size). IMO, it's time to rethink your design.

One of the guys you would want to hang out with.

    Hi Jesse,

thanks for your response. How do I "turn off" the backstretch.js? And thanks for the design comments, I am working on making it better but need the background to not stretch to see what it looks like 😉

    Hi
FYI the suggested image size used on the demo site is 1440px x 900px.

Easiest solution is to find an image that you can crop / resize to those dimensions.

That's what I've done on 3 Metro sites and had no problems.
