Ok I'm kinda confused. I've read to do this two different ways and I'm wondering which way is correct.

To set the large background image in the Minimum Pro theme do you use the WordPress dashboard > Appearance> Background> and upload the file

    OR

Do you go into the child theme image folder and replace that sample.jpg image that is somehow governed by the the sample.jpg file in the functions.php file? (except when I look in there this mysterious sample.jpg file isn't even there?) I must be missing something...

If you read the theme set up instructions it has you use the backend of WordPress to do it, but on these forums it is saying to do it the second way...which is right?

The theme setup instructions are correct however there's generally many ways to get the same result.
