    Hello,

I use Eleven40 from Genesis for my site.

I have currently placed the 2 codes from Adsense for auto amp ads in the customize option of theme settings under header and footer fields.

Is that right or should I be placing it somewhere else?

Am asking this question because I see the ads appearing on the amp age multiple times, back to back (double ads). And sometimes only at the very bottom of the page and that too double ad blocks.

I really need some suggestions with this ad code implementation.

    Thank you.

The position of the auto ads (placement in your content) is not determined by the theme but Google Adsense. And it's based on the page or post Google determined. If the instructions for adding the code states to add it to the header, then you've placed it in the correct place.

Thank you for your kind reply. I just needed a specialist to confirm this.

Also what I have come to a conclusion about the double ads is this:

I have place 2 codes. one is for the normal auto ads and the second is for the auto amp ads from Google adsense. Cos I thought it is necessary to add both the ads for amp and non-amp.

Is that why double ads are popping on my site? Could you please help me resolve this issue.

Probably so. You should consult Google Adsense about using both methods. That wouldn't be related to the theme. Contact a Google Adsense professional on Twitter or in a Facebook Group possibly.

Thank you for your helpful responses.

I have actually asked Google about this.

And I wanted to know one more thing. There used to be a an option to insert publisher id for auto ads. I think in the newer updates it was removed I believe.

What surprises me is that I have removed bout the ad codes completely. There is no ad code anywhere else placed. Still ads are loading just fine. And the double ads issue is solved after removing the codes under the theme settings.

So is there any chance that what I had inserted (publisher id) in the previous versions of the theme has remained and is helping serve the ads?

And I further tried to check where the ad code could exist.

This is what I was able to find:

It is from the functions.php of eleven40 child theme.

So I kind of think it is the remnant from the previous feature which used to be there for showing ads automatically by inserting publisher id.

The double ads has resolved after removing the ad codes which I had placed under theme settings. The ads were still displaying so after going through the functions file I was able to locate this.

I really need your guidance with this. Thank you.

In the previous version if you had code in the Auto Adsense box in Genesis, on the update they moved the code to the Header Scripts box automatically. If the box was blank, it did nothing. So that could have been the issue. Glad you figured it out. I will close this now.
