    my text is flush against the widget border. I'd live to get it some breathing room. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    You've already got separate CSS blocks for the three text blocks with the same background color assigned to them. You can consolidate this code and add padding to it there as well:

    section#text-23,
    section#text-6,
    section#text-32 {
        background-color: cornsilk;
        padding: 30px;
    }
