There are times you have a page with multiple child pages that the parent page should simply be a index of those child pages.

I use to have a Custom Page Template that I would use for this -- here is one place still using it:

I've spent way too much time on this trying to get it in the current version of Genesis & really am lost.
I'm just too rusty with StudioPress / Genesis / WordPress.

Anyone have some simple code that would duplicate the functionality of that page?

    Jonathan,

You can easily build a template on a simple page using a plugin with shortcodes. I'd suggest starting with these two:

"Display Posts Shortcode by Bill Erickson"

Display Posts – Easy lists, grids, navigation, and more

Be sure to read the wiki: https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/wiki

You can create something like your example with a string like the following and a little CSS:
    [display-posts post_type="page" post_parent="current" posts_per_page="-1" order="ASC" orderby="title" include_excerpt="true" image_size="thumbnail"]

I've also used "Genesis Featured Widget Amplified by Nick Croft" for similar setups. This plugin also provides a configurable widget. https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-featured-widget-amplified/

Choose your next site design from over 350 Genesis themes.
