    Hi,

    I have built a mediasimulator with WordPress. for training purpose. With that simulator I can publish media posts and schedule them accordingly. With the native schedule function. That all works fine. Now I need this to be slightly different.

    I want to schedule the posts on a timeline and lets say start at 10.00AM, publish the first post after 30 sec, then after 45 sec, then after 2 minutes… and so on. I don’t want to use real time but relative time.

    A second thing is that I need a function to pauze the timer. For giving feedback to the group for example.

    Now I have checked all kinds of plugins but they all rely on the basic native schedule function in WordPress. So I am reaching out now with my question and hoping for some solutions.

    Creating a timer with the ability to pause on demand is a front end action that can easily be accomplished with jQuery. After a post is saved as a draft, publishing it simply requires changing the post_Status in the wp_posts table. This is a back end operation that can be accomplished using wp_publish_post( $post_id ). Getting jQuery to execute a back end command requires Ajax or the Rest API (maybe?). Not 100% sure about REST, but Ajax will certainly work. The most difficult part is how to incorporate the draft post_ids in the front end to pass as parameters to the back end. Whatever the case, you're probably looking at custom coding.

    hi Victor, thanks for your response. If I need the custom build. I need to look for a developer. Can't do that myself.

    That work can probably take up to a full day. I would budget a max of $500.
