I am working as a graphical designer at http://www.cashfloat.co.uk and my COO wants us to be AMP compliant. From a graphical perspective, what is it that I should do different?

This is the best place to learn about AMP: https://www.ampproject.org/. You're going to find that you can't use some Javascript, some HTML tags, and, quite frankly, it's a real pain in the neck. There is an AMP plugin for WordPress that's under development by Automattic. Even with the plugin, you'll get a lot of AMP errors on Google Webmaster.
