Is there an easy way to add search to the top header nav? I'm running Studio Press with Beaver Builder add on with both of these sites:

I tried a couple plug ins, but both added the search below the menu. Any way to add it in line?

Yes, I added that code to the theme function, but it doesn't appear to do anything. How do I get the search bar into the menu? I know I"m being dense on this once code is added I don't see any option anywhere.

Which nav menu are you referring to please? Primary or Secondary?
