Is it possible to add a full-width featured image under the primary navigation bar in the Apparition theme home page.
I don't have a url as I am testing on my local server.

Did you ever get this figured out? I’d be happy to escalate if you are still looking for resolution.

    Thanks for getting back Susan.
I haven't figured it out and would like to know if it's possible.

That is possible via hooks. But what exactly do you mean by "featured image", is it an independent image, or you want to pull it from a post?

I make WordPress websites using Genesis Framework.

My idea was for an independent image.

So its not a featured image you've added to the featured image meta box for a specific post?

    (1) You can hook in an unattached image directly from your child themes images folder or (2) echo in the HTML for the image.

    (3) Another option is to create a new widget area after the menu and add it to a text widget.

Depends which way you want to go but i have code for all 3 solutions.

Please clarify what you mean by full width using the visual markup guide http://www.genesisframework.com/markup.php

Are you referring to the width of the site container, the width of the content sidebar wrap or something else? Thanks.

    Brad,
Image aligns left with both solutions. Is there a way to centre it as in your examples.
    Thanks

    What size is your image?

It worked perfectly for me as the screenshots show.

Image size was the problem alright. All working as it should now.
